About
Tara is a singer born in Frosinone, near Rome, to Palestinian parents from Jaffa. She has developed a new music genre — Arab&B — blending Italian pop with Arabic lyrics and Levantine sounds.
She connected with Dardashe seeking collaboration for the music video of her new song, “Hala Ya Helwi.” Wanting Arab girls to embody the scenes, she envisioned a visual narrative rooted in identity and presence. Dardashe immediately recognized the alignment. We collaborated with a diaspora artist, activating the community and supporting the project’s creative and curatorial production.
Together, we explored themes central to our work — identity, feminism, intimacy, decoloniality, power, and oppression. Dardashe managed the creative and curatorial direction: designing the set, sourcing and arranging accessories, and working closely with Tara to shape the atmosphere and visual storytelling of the video.
